J D Plumbing and Heating

Contracted Justin to install a boiler and new radiators in November 2022. He installed a floor mounted Bosch Worcester High Flow 440 cdi. Was pretty efficient and installed it in one day, charging me £1000 labour. (Thought this was expensive for one days labour but I usually employ local tradesmen and he did seem quite a proficient person). There was a little bit of work left to finish off on the day as he left a hole in the wall where he put the outlet pipe and cut a hole which he filled with foam and said he’d do this when he came back to install the radiators, which he said he’d do in the following April 23 during Easter holidays. I paid him upfront for the radiators £818.23 and a £300 retainer for the labour costs, (he also charged me £1000 for this job!). He said it’s better to purchase the radiators now (in November 22 as they would probably be more expensive in April 23 and would save me money if he bought and stored them for me in his lock-up!). Anyway this happened . When he was due to do the radiator fit in April 23 he made an excuse why he couldn’t come to do it then, (apparently got trapped under a rally car he said! ) and we rearranged it a number of times until we eventually decided a date to fit them in August 23 during the summer holidays (as I’m a teacher). Anyhow, he made excuses that he was too busy and couldn’t fit it in but would do it end of August. More excuses came and then August passed by. I was getting annoyed trying to correspond with him and he kept ghosting me for a few weeks and then gave me a story he couldn’t pay me my money back (£1118.23) as he was waiting to be paid from his current jobs. I said I would come around and take my radiators and get someone else to fit them, he admitted he never bought them and didn’t have a lock-up anymore! I was furious so asked him to pay me my money back. It was now almost a year since the original agreement. He said he would pay me all the money back but has only paid me £500 saying he can’t get his hands on the now balance of £818.23. I said I would take legal action against him if he didn’t pay the remaining sum. I’ve not heard from him so I’m now in the process of taking litigation against him which is more of a pain as both my wife and I are pensioners and she’s disabled. So I would definitely not recommend JD plumbing and heating services of Hawarden to anyone unless you don’t want to see your money again. It’s a shame really as he seemed a very nice person but don’t be taken in.!

Sorry but this company will take your money and not complete all the work, then never meet datelines, presently with all different kinds of excuses for over 8 months, with various reasons why he can’t do your work or why he can’t refund all your money back after charging you £1000 labour for a one day job and paying upfront for materials over a year ago!
